HAC selects Paragon award winners

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council recognized several community members Sept. 8 at its Annual Meeting and Paragon Art Awards. Presenting the 2016 awards were HAC President Lucas Judlowe and HAC Executive Director Michael Gaines. Award winners were presented original, one-of-a-kind award pieces by local artist Scott Haycraft.

HAC Treasurer Ileen Levy won the highest honor, Volunteer of the Year. Levy was recognized for her commitment and dedication as HAC treasurer, her diligence in assuring the council remains fiscally responsible, her participation and volunteerism and her ability to always be there when needed.

Also recognized with 2016 Paragon Art Awards were:

• Leadership in the Arts (Art Project) — 10th Judicial Circuit Court Foster Care Family Partnership, Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd

• Leadership in the Arts (Individual) — Michael and Sherry Bukstein, Robert M. Clayton II, Ann Nagy, and Branson and Katie Wood

• Leadership in the Arts (Business) — AVA Goldworks

• Leadership in the Arts (Organization) — George H. Riedel Private Foundation

• Leadership in the Arts (Educator) — Lisa Wiese

• HAC President’s Award — Spectrum Reach

• HAC Director’s Award — Paul and Mary Lynne Richards

• Organizational Leadership Award — Lana Ferrel and Marilyn Kerkemeyer.
