From the Band
Dan Hemphill started to write music at 13 with some school friends. They wrote an average of three songs a day for two years. In 1979, he joined the Air Force and spent two years at Yokota AB Japan (Tokyo area) Where he met Mark Morton and they were the House Band for 49 Club in Fussa, Japan, and they toured the Tokyo area with "HomeGrown" (a Japanese Blue Grass band) under the name "MorHemp."
In 1982, he formed the band "Revenge," in Sacramento, Calif., and won the base talent contest for best band. In 1984, he went to Okinawa, Japan, where he hosted several open mic nights and managed three bands.
More recently, Dan started his recording label MorHemp Music and hosts an internet Open Mic Chat Room on Paltalk.com. He joined ReverbNation in 2007 and in 2009 he started a video Production company L.B. Tymes.
He currently plays at open mic nights, special guest spots and in the live music chat rooms on Paltalk.com and is working on a 10 volume box set of CDs
of his 30+ years of music.
