From the Band
The Smokin' Mojo Kings formed in 2007 in Fort Madison, Iowa. The Kings took first place, two years in a row, at the Quad Cites division of the Iowa Blues Challenge in 2007 and 2008 and have performed at the Davenport, Iowa, Blues Festival and "Simply the Blues" in Fort Madison. They are also popular regulars at The Washington club in Burlington, Iowa. Their sound is a mix of traditional blues, rhythm & blues and New Orleans funk.
